Which means I could:
Build a new desktop and have money left over for a new monitor
Buy a new camera
Get a lot of Doritos
Buy a c heap as dirt car or motorcycle
Actually be responsible
... well, it looks like I’ll be doing the last one. What’s everyone else doing with their returns?

Well, I actually haven’t filed yet, but I believe I owe about $500. So, whatever you can get for -$500.

I just payed off the wife's car a few month early.

We were stunned to find we are getting a decent refund after believing we'd have to pay a lot. It's going into savings so we can take a nice vacation later in the year.

If you buy an FCA product, it’s basically the same thing.

All $50 of it? I was just thankful I didn’t owe money. I guess that means I did my taxes right, since no sense in giving the government a free no interest loan anyways.
It was surprising though since my refund all other years was about $2k and I don't think my deductions changed much. So it felt more like I lost money. I am planning on using some money to buy a Miata soon though so I can say my $50 goes towards that lol

You can get a BMW check engine light for that.

Paid for health insurance premiums like a responsible adult.

Well, getting some money back is good.
My dad and I discussed trying to send a letter to the CRA (Canada’s IRS) about them owing us interest on our refunds. I know it won’t work, but it would be funny to get some response.

Mine went right in the bank.

Refund. You file the return to receive your refund /pendant

I got ~2k back, 500 went towards a TV, the rest went into the 3 series; 1000 to pay it down and 500 for a repair.

Mine will mostly pay for the tires I bought for the Miata last month.

R eturns? Oh yeah your Canadian.
Had to pay 2000 up 650 from last year.

I got back the same, and it's all going to be going into paying off the last of my student loan.

Jesus.
I also get taxed to hell and back through the year. I know a few people who had to pay.

What do pendants have to do with anything? /pedant

Between federal and state taxes I paid around $130, so I pretty much nailed it.

That’ll be an excellent feeling.
I know when I paid off the loan to the M3, holding the title in my hand felt great. Only loan I've paid off, so far.

Ttrumpland. I really don't mind paying a little but this year was steep. Gonna up the 401k a little and see if that helps.

Paying off that loan means I can put more money towards my car loan. Or save. I'm probably going to talk to a financial advisor soon about what I'm doing.

My apologies. That really sucks.

Not your fault. Lol. Although I do think things will get worse before their better over here
![]() 04/06/2019 at 16:30 |

I guess it really depends on how much you owe and what the rate is. You could always split the difference and do both.

Gun stuff, banking for when/if I get new tires for the trans am.
![]() 04/06/2019 at 16:38 |

That's what my dad keeps saying, but it'd be nice to fully dedicate my attention to one rather than try to deal with both. Especially since I can fully get rid of one.

What kind of gun stuff?
![]() 04/06/2019 at 16:50 |

That statement says a lot, based on that I’d put the extra money towards the car loan.

I just filed for mine. But I need cash so no extravagance for me

Need to stock up on some AK mags, thinking I should just get a speed loader already so I can stop chewing up my fingers. Probably some ammo too.

Due to unearned income, I owe. A bunch.

Ouch.
![]() 04/06/2019 at 17:23 |

yeah, the market did well for me tax year 2018 . Even though the farm is a net loss this year (not a huge loss actually!) The unearned income puts our AGI over the limit for the healthcare rebates we received, so we have to pay back all of that :/ At least we got a bunch of value out of the insurance this year.
![]() 04/06/2019 at 17:56 |

I got $200 which was only because of carbon tax
rebate, so I guess it’ll just sit in savings to cover the increase in fuel costs over the year.

OH SNNNNNNAAAAA APPPPPPPPP!

I got $55 back, which put a substantial dent in my electricity bill.

Y eah... did ours on turbotax and put what we owe on the credit card... at least we’ll get points that way.

Unless you owe so much, the you immedi ately went “that can’t be right ,” you don’t owe that much.
M y CPA went “ what the actual fuck? ”
And that’s after I addressed the IRA over-contribution.
![]() 04/07/2019 at 00:02 |

Don’t. DO NOT. Thanks to the shitheads that voted for il Douche (seriously, fuck you, fuck all of you with a chainsaw sideways) and are stupid enough to think they got a tax cut (because they are literally retarded,) contributing more to your retirement will absolutely RAPE you in taxes because the terrorists DESTROYED them.
IRA? Forget it. If you make $64k/yr, no deduction for you. That’s single. Married filing jointly? $103k. Married filing separately?
$0.
Yep, NO DEDUCTION ALLOWED AT ALL.
401k? Married filing separately,
$0.
Single? $64k.
Roth IRA? Forget it - they lowered the income tiers and lied to claim it was an increase. It’s not. They slashed the Roth IRA contribution limits.
Guess it’s a good fucking thing I’m going to die before I can even think about retiring, huh?
![]() 04/07/2019 at 12:06 |

Oh no, I double checked. It turned out my CPA had entered the health care subsidy twice by accident and we reclassified a temporary building from 20 year depreciation to 10 year depreciation... that cut it down by about 40%. Still a honking big number. We expected to have to repay the health premium credit due to unearned income performance, but the other liability was a bit of a surprise...
![]() 04/07/2019 at 12:39 |

Oh, I am super fucked.
Near to five digits fucked, already.
And that’s after increasing my withholding because I knew better than to believe anything from the terrorists posing as a government.
![]() 04/07/2019 at 21:35 |

W ith state added in we cracked 5 digits.
![]() 04/07/2019 at 21:43 |

I’m looking at 5 digits.
Each.
Boy, taking away all those deductions like the mortgage interest one really helped out the middle class, huh? Seriously, il Douche supporters need to get cancer and die. And no fucking treatment . Chemo is for “freeloaders” in their parlance.
